What is respite care/relief care?

Respite care is a temporary, short-term care service that provides relief for primary caregivers who support individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or other special needs. It allows family members or regular caregivers to take a break while ensuring their loved one continues to receive the care and supervision they need. This is set up through a 24 hour block of time.

What types of services do you provide under Oregon Developmental Disabilities Services?

We currently provide attendant care, relief/respite care, and day support activities (DSA). If the client's ISP allows it, we can also help the client explore LIFT services, mileage services, and Behavioral Support Plans.

What is attendant care?

Attendant care is an hourly service that provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), and health-related tasks through cueing, monitoring, reassurance, redirection, set-up, hands-on, standby assistance, and reminding

What are Day Support Activities (DSA)?

Day Support Activities (DSA) are designed to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities engage in their communities through various activities. These programs focus on building social and interpersonal skills in settings outside the home.

Who is eligible for your services?

Individuals diagnosed with intellectual or developmental disabilities who meet state eligibility requirements are eligible for our services.

(For DSPs) What qualifications do I need to work for your agency?

Qualifications vary by position but generally include relevant experience in caregiving or developmental disabilities services. Specific requirements will be listed in each job posting.

(For DSPs) What training is provided by your company?

To start, we have three mandatory training sessions that coincide with our onboarding, which include a mandatory abuse reporter training, a CPR/ AED training and DEI course. Outside of that, DSPs are required to complete 24 hours of training annually to stay compliant.

We offer positions for direct support professionals, the specific needs and daily tasks can vary depending on the client you are working with.
